Pet vojnika je ubijeno a osam ranjeno u jugoistočnoj pokrajini Sirnak u srijedu a pretpostavlja se da su ih napali militanti Kurdske radničke stranke (PKK), rekli su sigurnosni izvori.

Militanti su ispalili rakete i pucali iz oružja dugog dometa iz sjevernog Iraka na cestu pored okruga Uludere u pokrajini Sirnak pogodivši vojno vozilo dok je prolazilo, rekli su izvori.

Jugoistok Turske poprište je najgoreg nasilja u zadnja dva desetljeća otkad je PKK odbacila dvoipolgodišnje primirje prošle godine.

Sigurnosni izvori rekli su da je početna procjena da su petorica vojnika ubijena i osmorica ranjena.

PKK, koju Turska, EU i SAD smatraju terorističkom organizacijom, pobunila se protiv turske države 1984. a u sukobima koji su uslijedili ubijeno je 40.000 ljudi, uglavnom Kurda.
