Britanski princ Harry i američka glumica Meghan Markle vjenčali su se u subotu u kapeli dvorca Windsor u nazočnosti britanske kraljevske obitelji i brojnih uzvanika obećajući da će se međusobno voljeti, poštivati i čuvati.
“Hoću”, odgovorio je britanski princ Harry na pitanje hoće li uzeti Meghan Markle za suprugu i voljeti je, poštivati i štititi. Jednako je na takvo pitanje odgovorila i Meghan.
Par je razmijenio prstenje – burmu od velškog zlata za Markle te od platine za Harryja a potom ih je kanterberijski nadbiskup Justin Welby proglasio mužem i ženom.
Princ Harry je u subotu od kraljice dobio titulu vojvode od Sussexa i Meghan je udajom za njega postala vojvotkinja od Sussexa.
Nju je do oltara dopratio mladoženjin otac princ Charles zbog toga što je njezin otac Thomas Markle podvrgnut operativnom zahvatu na srcu prije tri dana.

Britanska kontrola leta osigurala je 5 minuta mira za obred koji se održava u dvorcu koji je na putanji slijetanja zrakoplova u zračnu luku Windsor.
Mladenka je bila odjevena u vjenačnicu koju je kreirala britanska dizajnerica Clare Waight Keller i na glavi je imala dijamantnu tijaru.
