One man was pronounced dead at the scene and at least eight people were injured, police said. The driver of the van, a 48-year-old man, has been detained. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is being carried out by the Counter Terrorism Command. The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) commented on the incident saying that a van has run over worshippers outside the Muslim Welfare House (MWH), near the Finsbury Park Mosque. Londonska policija u subotu je izvijestila kako je došlo do incidenta ispred Prirodoslovnog muzeja. Naime, automobil se, čini se, namjerno zabio u slučajne prolaznike, a nekoliko je osoba lakše ozlijeđeno. Policija je uhitila jednu osobu te otvorila istragu.

“Vidjela sam automobil dijagonalno preko puta ceste. Činilo se da će ‘pokupiti’ jedan od stupića. Bilo je dosta ljudi u blizini nekoliko osoba koje su ležale na cesti”, opisala je BBC-jeva reporterka Chloe Hayward koja je izlazila iz Muzeja kada se incident dogodio.

Na mjesto događaja izašao je veliki broj policajaca, a helikopteri nadlijeću područje.
